The Luminary Blogs

Alas, another blog from your friendly founder. Why the leave of absence, you might ask? Because I was beginning to wonder if anyone is actually reading these things.

When I started this movement, the clear intention was to create a new school community where fresh minds could get together to meditate, connect, and explore consciousness in a new way. Through our Pleasure Loves Company Gatherings, Conscious Indulgence Parties, and Awareness Architect Teacher Trainings, it's clear that we are heading in the right direction as our tribe is expanding by the day.

But, for some reason, I was expecting (maybe my downfall in the first place), more of a response from our community to the Luminary Blogs. Other sites that have blogs that are far less interesting (in my opinion), get hundreds of comments to their posts. So why do only a few share their thoughts on ours? Are we boring?

I like to kick cats.

There!! Now I've said something that should have really pissed you off and you're going to leave a million comments about what an A-HOLE I am....right?

I don't really kick cats....damn it, I can't even stick to my controversy in a blog. Maybe I am boring.

The intention of the Luminary Blogs section is to start a conversation. So if you're reading this, please let me know what you want to talk about so I/we can share our thoughts around the things that most interest you.

In fact, I challenge you to respond to this post!! HA-HA....it's a duel!!!

love ya,

Max

I would love to see more interaction.

I also enjoy reading blogs and thinking "wow or whoa" and allowing it to marinate throughout my day.

I love reading what people have to share.  I hope the lack of comments won't deter anyone from posting.

Oh, how I love to tango with the needs & attachment conversation... not to mention the instant gratification era we're seemingly thriving in, yet so quickly with which we're being jettisoned away from true connection in the same breath (in my humble opinion).

I am delighted to reply to this post, as I, too, long for interaction... much like a young child on the playground of life longs to be the center of the universe, sometimes forgetting by just exiting defaults you as part of the center of the universe.

I could write all day long to share and savor the intimacy that I receive from people I don't even know responding to me online.  And, how for that very reason I beg for more.  Yet, my own blogging is effected by daily priorities and life things that push their way ahead of my preferred creative writing time.

This post reminds me to never let response be a dictator for my ability to open up.  If I feel like blogging, and you too, let's blog away.  When you want to- do it.  When they want to reply- let them do it.  Simply by asking for more people to come visit our playland online, they will start coming again.  I trust it.  Thanks for giving a shout out.

Further, to tastefully jump into this "marinade" of delectable concoctions we're delivering for YOU ALL by blogging, let me say that all great things take time.  Patience my dear, Max, patience.  They will come.  They will seek us out.  They will see what they've been missing.  They will stay to play, delight, and dive in to the original, divinely stimulating-beyond-their-wildest-beliefs element we serve up so especially for them.

Just you wait!

Yes, Max, we are out here.  I have been reading the Luminary Blogs regularly for about six weeks or so, though I have posted very few comments.  I have been reluctant, not because I don't often have strong opinions about what I read - on the contrary, I often have very intense, visceral reactions, but they are not always positive.  I am an agnostic existentialist, and I often seemingly have a drastically different philosophical perspective than the authors of many of the issues raised on these pages.  To answer your question:  The exploration contained herein is not boring but, if I may be so bold, it is somewhat predictable.

The tone that seems to have been established on these pages is that of an extremely supportive environment, perhaps too supportive.  It is the kind of support that is reminiscent of group therapy, and to which a have a violent aversion.  It seems to be support for support's sake, and if it stumbles upon the stuff of real constructive challenge, it seems to do so accidentally.

Please don't misunderstand:  I am quite supportive of what you are trying to do here, I am interested in what you have to say, and I wish to remain so. However, I do not always agree with what I read or have the same perspective as most of the authors and those posting comments.  Thus far, it has been unclear to me if these pages are intended to serve merely as a cheerleading section for the movement as a whole or, in fact, a forum for real

exploration and debate which, although need not be acrimonious, is not always warm and fuzzy.

I will continue to read and feel this out.

Ally,

These are EXACTLY the type of posts I was hoping for!! Disagree, be honest, be bold, create CONTROVERSY!! This forum is supposed to be a space for exploration. Diverse perspectives are what make the world interesting. Please feel free to share your genuine thoughts at will....in fact, I DEMAND IT!! haha.

I always love what you do, what you write and your positive, grounding attitude.  But I wish everyone could post blogs... and not just the Architects.  There have been times when I would love to post something inspiring that happened that day, but with no avail:(  Anyway, thats possibly a way to get more feedback:)

I am very frickin' new to Blogs-who made up that stupid name anyway. Maybe we can call it something else...how'bout...shizer, can't think of anything right now, but I still say we should come up with a new name.

I will say though Max, now that I finally found a group of people that are on the same page as me, I will be commenting on these blogs or posting my own!!

About Max Simon

Growing up, I was surrounded by the some of the world’s most respected teachers of spirituality, consciousness, and mind-body medicine. As I evolved, I was ingrained with the tools of awareness and trained on how to transmit this knowledge to the world around me. At the age of 22, I joined the world-renowned Chopra Center for Wellbeing and became the youngest meditation, yoga and Ayurveda teacher in their history. As someone who could integrate ancient wisdom into modern times, I spent the next four years traveling the world alongside Deepak Chopra M.D. and my father David Simon M.D. teaching thousands of people meditation, yoga, and Ayurveda at their prestigious workshops and events. In 2007, I stepped back and realized that the modern world would not be open to learning these valuable tools unless it was brought to them in a different package. With the intention of giving meditation a fresh new look and feel, I founded The selfcentered Tour, a meditation inspired revolution for authenticity seekers. Through our events, workshops, Awareness Architects Teacher Trainings, gear, CORE Team, and content driven website, our vision is to inspire one million people to spend time each day with their eyes closed tapping into their silent inner-self.
